Hólar - an Episcopal See, cultural and educational center from 1106 to 1798 (the cathedral was originally built in 1763). Auðunarstofa at Hólar - replica of structure built in 1317. Hofsós - one of Iceland’s oldest trading centers. Pakkhúsið, the renovated warehouse from 1777 now functions as the Icelandic Emigration Center (Vesturfarasetrið), with exhibits documenting the many emmigrations of Icelanders to North America around the late 1800's.
