Text on back of card: Gullfoss is a spectacular waterfall situated in the river Hvítá. The falls come in a two-tiered progression at right angles, the first dropping 11 meters and then another in two cascades plunging some 21 meters. This incredibly powerful waterfall (in the summertime the average amount of water is estimated to be around 140 m³/s) was considered being utilized for hyrdro power, but is now a protected nature site.
